Why do my home fragrance oils smell different in the bottle versus in my diffuser?

Temperature changes everything! In the bottle, you're smelling concentrated oil at room temperature. When heated in a diffuser, different fragrance molecules evaporate at different rates. Top notes play first, followed by the heart and base notes. That's why some vanilla-based oils might smell more like caramel when warmed up.
